The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Ferry Port Terminals and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union agree compensation for actual losses suffered by two casual dockers. It did not recommend conceding the union’s claim that two permanent dockers on sick leave should receive voluntary severance. The dispute also concerned four A List casual dockers seeking other elements of a compensation package paid to permanent dockers. The Court did not support that claim as made. It recommended talks about compensation for actual loss suffered by two claimants. The Court’s recommendation was signed on 28 April 1995.
