The Labour Court found that ending a temporary sales assistant's employment at Eason And Son Limited was not unreasonable, given the temporary nature of her contract. The recommendation was signed on 25 January 1995. The Court said she had carried out her duties competently and management had no reason to fault her work. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought her retention, while the company said the role was temporary and other temporary staff were also let go.
