In 1995, the Labour Court recommended no compensation for a worker who brought an alleged unfair-dismissal dispute against the Conrad Hotel. The recommendation was signed on 13 January 1995. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the worker had been employed for a short time and had not been spoken to about performance during probation; the hotel said it had explained the probation period and received reports about his manner and attitude. At the hearing, the union accepted it had received an explanation for the dismissal and that the hotel was prepared to provide a reference if requested.
