The Labour Court recommended that employees made redundant by Unidare Conductors Limited receive 3.50 weeks' pay per year of service, plus statutory payments. The recommendation was signed on 22 September 1994. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union, and Technical Engineering and Electrical Union were the unions named in the dispute. The Court found closure inevitable and said the company had long been aware of the likely closure and job losses. It said the company should have involved its staff and helped them pursue opportunities that might arise.
