The Labour Court recommended against a 7% pay increase sought for ten Bobst machine operators at Hallmark Cards (Ireland) Limited. Its recommendation was dated 20 April 1994. The Irish Print Union said the operators had taken on extra work and argued the company’s agreement allowed pay negotiations when changes improved productivity. The Court found that the work required no skills beyond the operators’ existing range and concluded there were no grounds for an increase.
