The Labour Court recommended that Flogas (Ireland) Limited and the Marine Port and General Workers Union and Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union immediately review salary arrangements for 22 workers in Drogheda and make any changes required under the P.E.S.P. The recommendation was signed on 27 January 1994. The Court found that handling union and non-union staff salaries separately had created a perception among union staff that discrimination was occurring. It said Flogas should urgently standardise pay arrangements and address any anomalies. The unions sought higher clerical rates and a grading system; the company cited market conditions and its commitment to review the position when the P.E.S.P. expired.
