The Labour Court recommended that the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association accept Coras Iompair Eireann's proposal to pay future executive recruits monthly. The recommendation was signed on 14 January 1994. A 1979 agreement gave graded executives the choice of weekly or monthly pay. The company introduced monthly payment for future executive appointments after a 1989 proposal, which the union said breached the earlier agreement. The union sought to restore the choice; the company argued that executives should be paid monthly.
