Labour Court recommends Coombe Hospital and The Irish Nurses Organisation) await arbitration

In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Coombe Hospital and The Irish Nurses Organisation) await the outcome of a national gradings and differentials claim submitted to arbitration before proceeding with a claim to regrade five Junior Ward Sister posts. The union said the post holders carried out the same range of duties as Ward Sister colleagues; the hospital said the claim could not progress while the national claim was pending. The recommendation was signed on 8 November 1993. In a clarification dated 7 December 1993, the Court said it would not rehear the case.
