The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Corporation consider its eating-on-site allowance claim as part of a Clause 3 P.E.S.P. package, saying an increase of 37p a day would be reasonable in that context. The recommendation was dated 14 May 1993. The Irish Municipal and Civil Trade Unions and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union pursued the claim after national negotiations did not affect the positions of corporation staff. The Court said restoring the allowance to its 1981 value was unwarranted, but it would consider some adjustment as part of the package.
