Labour Court refuses Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union claim to restore leave days

The Labour Court did not recommend that the Hospitaller Order Of St John Of God restore Easter and Christmas privilege leave days sought by the Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union. The recommendation was signed on 11 November 1992. The Court said the Order had been remiss in not involving the union in standardising leave arrangements, but cited the protection of staff who had previously had better leave entitlements. The Order said staff employed by 31 December 1989 kept their entitlements and the changed arrangements applied to later recruits.
