The Labour Court recommended maintaining pay parity for part-time teachers at the Royal Irish Academy Of Music and conceding the union’s claims for parity and arrears. The recommendation was signed on 13 February 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought parity with teachers at the V.E.C. College of Music, including a special pay increase and pro-rata arrears dating back to September 1987. The Academy recognised the claims but said it could not meet them without Department of Education funding.
