In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that C.M.S. Signmax recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and its right to negotiate for members. The recommendation was signed on 13 January 1992. The union sought recognition after the company declined conciliation. C.M.S. Signmax said its staff association and direct discussions with workers were adequate, and it did not want two representative bodies. The Court considered the company’s concerns about union organisation groundless and recommended recognition without further delay.
