In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that Private Agricultural Colleges pay technicians £100 a year for additional work on short courses, subject to the conditions in Clause 3, Appendix A of the P.E.S.P. The recommendation was signed on 4 October 1991. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought a payment like the one made to teachers involved in short courses. The Court said those courses did not reduce technicians’ time off, so the same payment was not warranted, but it found the work involved additional duties.
