Labour Court recommends improved redundancy terms at Ommitron

In 1991, the Labour Court recommended improved redundancy terms at Ommitron Limited, including three weeks’ pay per year of service for up to five years, three and a half weeks for service between five and ten years, and four weeks for service over ten years, in each case plus statutory payments. The recommendation was signed on 19 September 1991. The Court recommended that the company permit an employee-shareholder nominee on its board while employees held at least 30% of its issued ordinary shares. It also recommended that Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept the company’s proposal to retain workers in the KRYP division rather than the worker in the P.C.Q.T. division, saying this was dictated by work requirements.
