The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores Limited concede a union claim for paid annual leave for a worker who moved from full-time to part-time hours without a break in service. The recommendation was dated 28 August 1991. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union said the worker had been told to take two weeks off at her own expense, so she worked instead. The Court found the company’s refusal contrary to established domestic custom and practice. Dunnes Stores Limited declined to attend the hearing.
