The Labour Court rejected two workers’ claim for higher rates of pay at St John Of God Hospital, finding they were already paid at the maximum of the applicable scale. The recommendation was dated 5 June 1991. The workers said they had been recruited as kitchen porters and sought the Eastern Health Board rate. The hospital said they worked as catering assistants and were paid under Department of Health guidelines. The Court also noted staff had not received enough information about their employment and payments.
