In 1991, the Labour Court rejected a worker’s claim for an increase in his personal plus rate at the Electricity Supply Board (ESB). The decision was dated 30 May 1991. The worker argued that his rate should reflect a crane differential he had received before transferring to Inchicore. The ESB said driving differentials did not apply permanently to his general-worker role. The Court found no grounds to alter an earlier Industrial Council recommendation, which set his rate at £10 a week and had been accepted by the union.
