Labour Court recommends Quinnsworth continue Midleton 39-hour week arrangement

In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that Quinnsworth continue the arrangement for implementing a 39-hour week at its Midleton branch while the parties met to examine any problems. The Court said the arrangement in place matched the Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union's account. The recommendation was signed on 17 May 1991. The union said the arrangement reduced hours through additional annual leave and had operated for more than a year. Quinnsworth denied agreeing to that approach and said it would add pressure to a six-day retail operation. The parties were Quinnsworth and the Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union.
