Labour Court recommends £2,000 allowance for Teagasc research head

In 1991, the Labour Court recommended one national research co-ordinator instead of the two sought by Manufacturing Science Finance, and heads of centre at Oakpark and Johnstown Castle rather than at every centre. It recommended five-year appointments and an annual allowance of £2,000 for the Head of Research Department position. The Court also recommended an annual allowance of £4,000 for the Head of Horticulture at Kinsealy but did not recommend Programme Director status for the post. It said research posts should be open to all suitably qualified Teagasc staff.
