The Labour Court found that a worker was unfairly treated during a brief probationary job with Connacht & Court Group Linen Supply of Ireland Limited, and recommended improved induction procedures. The recommendation was signed on 25 March 1991. The worker began work on 29 August 1990 and was dismissed on 4 September. She said she received no criticism of her work and claimed harassment; the company said she was unsuitable during the trial period and denied harassment. The Court found that the company had made little effort to introduce her reasonably to the job, while recognising that she was on probation and the company could terminate her employment. It could not recommend compensation for her lost employment.
