The Labour Court declined to recommend a 4% wage increase for 80 clerical workers at Roadstone Group Of Companies. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought the increase from 1 October 1990, aligning the workers with craft and general staff. The Court said cost-saving changes were the basis for conceding the claim and recommended that the parties consider alternative measures. Pending agreement on those measures, it found no grounds to concede the union’s claim. The recommendation was signed on 27 February 1991.
