The Labour Court recommended against the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for an extended probation period for a clerical worker at Aer Lingus. The union sought a three-month extension in another department after the company ended her employment in November 1989. The Court said it was not satisfied that her training differed from that of other recruits and noted efforts to help her meet the required standard. Its recommendation was signed on 7 September 1990.
