Labour Court recommends Wellman recognise union for process controllers

In 1990, the Labour Court recommended that Wellman International Limited recognise Manufacturing Science Finance and negotiate with it on matters affecting the company’s process controllers. The recommendation was signed on 24 July 1990. The union said all ten process controllers had joined and sought negotiating rights. Wellman International Limited did not attend the 2 May hearing and requested an adjournment by letter. Direct contacts later failed to resolve the issue.
