In 1989, the Labour Court recommended negotiations on an incremental salary structure at the Irish Kennel Club, adjustments to existing pay rates and a procedure for handling claims and grievances. It also recommended that the workers resume work immediately without victimisation on either side. The recommendation was signed on 3 July 1989. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union's dispute with the Club had led to a strike that began on 26 April. The Court recommended acceptance of the employer's lump-sum offer for losses due to transfer.
