The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union accept The Law Society's long-service increment offer and that existing staff accept flexibility defined by the employer. It also recommended a 2.50% pay increase from 1 October 1988, subject to acceptance of its other recommendations. The recommendation was signed on 17 May 1989. The Court did not recommend a wage-scale bar for new staff or a change to the existing wage-payment system.
