The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores Limited (Cornelscourt) give its shop steward reasonable time and facilities to carry out his duties. The recommendation, following a dispute raised by the Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union, was signed on 15 May 1989. The union said restrictions prevented the steward from carrying out his duties effectively. Dunnes Stores did not attend the hearing or respond to the invitation. The Court recommended practical support for the steward without separately determining each alleged restriction.
