Labour Court recommends retaining existing pay methods at Telemecanique

The Labour Court recommended retaining existing pay methods at Telemecanique (Ireland) Limited, subject to an annual review and the union's right to make representations in individual cases. The recommendation was signed on 21 March 1989. Manufacturing Science Finance had sought salary scales for 30 clerical and technical staff. The union said some workers were poorly paid and cited salary scales elsewhere in the electronics industry; the company argued that scales would disrupt its pay structure and said it would review individual rates where appropriate.
