The Labour Court recommended that workers covered by a dispute between the Irish Printing Federation and the Dublin Printing Trades Group Of Unions work a full day on Thursday and receive an extra hour's pay for Friday's short day. The recommendation was signed on 22 March 1989. The dispute concerned a short working day on 16 March 1989 and an alleged breach of a registered agreement. The Court said apportioning blame over the alleged breach would serve no useful purpose because the situation was confused.
