The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union’s claim against Comer International Limited for informal breaks away from the factory floor during fatigue allowance periods. The recommendation was signed on 23 January 1989. The Court recommended that the allowances be taken as close as practicable to the work area. Comer International Limited said agreed meal and rest breaks were sufficient and fatigue allowances were not intended to provide breaks away from machines.
