The Labour Court recommended that R.T.V. National Vision revise its transport-policy compensation offer to £700 for workers choosing vans, £500 for buy-outs and £180 for private-car users. It recommended that the revised offer be accepted. The recommendation was signed on 18 January 1989. The Manufacturing, Science, Finance union sought compensation for 64 field technicians after the company proposed replacing company cars with diesel vans. The union cited reduced private use and savings the change would bring the company.
