In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that Teagasc clarify the grades of two accountants as soon as possible. The recommendation, concerning a claim by the Union Of Professional And Technical Civil Servants, was signed on 21 December 1988. The Court said that if their grades had not been clarified by 31 March and a grading appeals mechanism was not in place, it would be prepared to consider their claim on its merits.
