Labour Court recommends £3,000 settlement of R.A. Burke worker’s claims

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that a worker accept R.A. Burke Limited’s offer, amended to include £3,000 compensation in full and final settlement of outstanding claims. The recommendation was signed on 19 December 1988. Represented by the Association of Clerical, Technical and Supervisory Staffs, the worker had claimed overtime pay and an annual bonus. The company’s earlier offer included reinstating his company car and £2,000 compensation for the period it had been withdrawn; the union rejected that position on the bonus and overtime claims. The Court also noted management’s undertaking to pay the worker an annual bonus on the same basis as other managers.
