In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that the Irish Distributive and Administrative Trade Union accept Quinnsworth’s relocation compensation as full and final settlement of its claim. The recommendation was signed on 18 November 1988, after a further move within Stillorgan Shopping Centre in June that year. The union said the payment made for a 1983 move was a one-off and described disruption during the later relocation. Quinnsworth argued that the earlier arrangement covered future moves and that the amounts already paid were generous. The Court considered the compensation already paid reasonable and recommended that claimants accept it in full and final settlement.
