The Labour Court recommended that The Labour Party use whatever means were available to upgrade a printer to the appropriate point on the Executive Officer scale. The Federated Workers Union Of Ireland had sought the upgrade after new machinery increased the worker's responsibilities. The Labour Party supported the claim but said it lacked authority to change the grade. The recommendation was dated 25 July 1988.
