In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that Quigley Company Of Europe Limited offer £1,000 to each worker displaced by rationalisation, with the Irish Transport And General Workers Union accepting the payment in full and final settlement of its claims. The recommendation was signed on 14 July 1988. The Court also recommended settling the number of redundancies at seven. The dispute concerned redundancy numbers, compensation for displaced workers and a share of savings arising from rationalisation.
