The Labour Court recommended that Irish Holemasters Limited pay a £50 lump sum to each claimant because of delays in finalising an agreement. It did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport And General Workers Union’s claim for pay differentials. The recommendation was signed on 27 June 1988. The union also sought backdating of a wage increase, more protective clothing and clarification of the bonus scheme. The Court noted the company’s undertaking to renew protective clothing without delay and explain bonus payments when asked.
