Labour Court backs temporary transfer of University College Dublin technician

In 1988, the Labour Court accepted University College Dublin's position that a proposed transfer of a technician to the Veterinary College was temporary and met the productivity agreement. The recommendation was signed on 11 May 1988. The Manufacturing, Science And Finance Union disputed the move, arguing it would be permanent, unsuitable and contrary to the agreement. University College Dublin said the agreement allowed temporary transfers and that the technician's services were urgently needed in Veterinary Surgery. The Court did not recommend conceding the union's claim.
