In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend compensation for a Dublin County Council depot assistant whose regular Saturday overtime ended after redeployment. The recommendation was signed on 14 December 1987.
The Local Government And Public Services Union sought £15,000, saying the worker had relied on the overtime income for years. Dublin County Council cited financial constraints, reduced work and a wider policy of cutting overtime. The Court did not recommend compensation for the lost overtime.
