The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a company pay an engineer €1,500 after finding his dismissal procedurally unfair. The recommendation was dated 30 September 2024. The engineer said he was not told a meeting was disciplinary, given time to prepare or allowed to bring a colleague. The company accepted that the process was unfair, but said he repeatedly disclosed confidential information by emailing managers at client companies about an internal grievance. The adjudicator found that the company had substantive grounds to dismiss him and that he contributed significantly to his dismissal. The WRC recommended €1,500 compensation in full and final settlement of the dispute.
