The Workplace Relations Commission recommended mediation and five additional days of annual leave for a worker in a dispute over workplace bullying procedures. Adjudication Officer Eileen Campbell dated the recommendation 19 February 2024. The worker said his team leader had bullied him and that the employer had not properly dealt with his complaints. The employer said it had followed its informal Dignity at Work process and supported him. Campbell found internal procedures had not been exhausted, but said the response should have been expedited and the worker should have been told he could use the formal procedure. She also recommended clearer explanations of the procedures, updated bullying training and a comprehensive Dignity at Work Policy. The five leave days were recommended as a goodwill gesture.
