WRC recommends no further action in Care Services warning dispute

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended no further action in a dispute over a verbal warning issued to an IT Supervisor at Care Services. The recommendation was dated 15 April 2026. The worker argued a performance improvement plan should have preceded the warning and that the process did not account for his circumstances after returning from certified leave. Care Services said it followed its disciplinary procedure after informal counselling and performance concerns. The adjudication officer found the process substantially fair and the employer acted reasonably; the warning had expired and been removed from the personnel file.
