WRC recommends closure of worker’s dispute over home visit

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a worker’s dispute over her employer’s response after she missed a shift be regarded as concluded, with no redress. The recommendation was dated 31 March 2026. The worker said a superior’s visit to her home was intrusive and disproportionate after she missed work and could not be contacted. The employer said the visit followed welfare concerns and that it had investigated her complaint through three stages. The WRC accepted that the worker found the intervention distressing but found management’s response reasonable in the circumstances. It also found the internal process procedurally sound.
