The WRC recommended €3,500 compensation for a security worker after finding that her employer failed to give her a chance to answer serious allegations before dismissing her during probation. Adjudication Officer Pat Brady dated the recommendation 22 October 2025. The worker said her dismissal followed her rejection of advances from a senior manager at the client company. The employer denied this and said it relied on performance and conduct concerns. The officer found that the person who decided to dismiss her knew nothing of the alleged relationship. However, serious allegations in internal reports had not been put to the worker for a response, which the officer said breached fair procedure even during probation. The compensation addressed the two complaints concerning her termination. No recommendation arose on the separate request to investigate a trade dispute.
