The WRC recommended that an employer pay a worker €7,500 after finding multiple breaches of its policy for handling workplace bullying complaints. The decision was dated 11 July 2025. The dispute concerned complaints against the worker’s supervisor that went through repeated investigation and appeal stages from late 2019 until April 2024. The worker said the process breached policy timelines and was handled unprofessionally. The employer acknowledged some delays but opposed compensation, saying the worker had no loss of earnings. The adjudication officer found breaches relating to investigator training, non-cooperation and legal representation. The worker had not contributed to the delays, the officer found, and the lengthy process added to his distress and inconvenience. The €7,500 was recommended in full and final settlement of the dispute.
