The WRC recommended that an employer pay a worker €3,500 compensation after finding that it had not followed proper procedures for handling her bullying complaints. The recommendation was dated 13 March 2025.
The worker said she was not kept informed or supported after complaining about her manager. New management said it had not been in place when the complaints were made and provided the former director’s notes. The worker no longer wanted an investigation after the manager and director left.
The WRC found that the company policy lacked detail, the director’s communication and guidance were inadequate, and the Code of Practice was not followed. It recommended €3,500 in full and final settlement, as compensation unrelated to earnings.
