The WRC recommended that a restaurant chain accept the outcome of its internal processes and recognise that no unfair dismissal took place in a dispute brought by an assistant manager. Adjudication Officer Michael McEntee dated the recommendation on 13 February 2025. The worker alleged he was dismissed in retaliation for raising concerns about a chef’s behaviour, including bullying and threats. The employer cited workplace and social-media issues and said it had followed its disciplinary procedures. McEntee found that the employer had used witness statements and proper procedures, and noted that the worker had not appealed. The recommendation said the unfair dismissal case had not been made out under the Industrial Relations Act.
