The recommendation, dated 3 October 2024, followed a dispute with A Disability Support Organisation. The worker said she was asked to assist a service user in hospital without being told the level of care needed and experienced back pain while supporting the person. The WRC recommended that the organisation clarify workers’ responsibilities when accompanying service users to hospital, ensure appropriate handovers and continue supporting the worker’s return to work.
