A WRC adjudication officer awarded Ioan Marius Crisan €7,500 compensation after finding his employer had not given him an opportunity to take paid annual leave. The decision was dated 4 October 2024. Crisan said he had not been rostered for holidays during his work as a window fitter and had not been paid for time off. Eda Fitting Services Limited argued it was responsible only for leave accrued from January 2022, after the business was established. The officer found that the business had transferred and that the company was responsible for his employment rights from February 2020. The officer calculated 69.5 untaken leave days, equivalent to 12 weeks, and found that Crisan had not refused holidays. Compensation was set at approximately 12 weeks' gross pay. The decision gives his net weekly pay as €568 and estimated gross weekly pay as €620; the award was €7,500.
