WRC recommendation rejects electrician’s constructive dismissal dispute

The Workplace Relations Commission did not find that a worker had been constructively dismissed after he resigned from his electrician job. The recommendation, dated 7 March 2025, made no further recommendation. The worker said a co-worker harassed him, including by refusing to isolate a circuit before he received electric shocks, and that the employer failed to address his concerns. The employer denied constructive dismissal and said he had not used its internal procedures. The officer found that most of the worker’s concerns had not been formally raised before he resigned, leaving the employer no opportunity to address them. She also noted that HR did not contact him after receiving his resignation.
