WRC recommends written reference after flawed bullying investigation

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a nursing home give a former financial manager a written reference and that the parties treat their dispute as closed. The recommendation was dated 8 October 2024. The worker said she had been bullied by a manager and sought a new investigation after an external appeal investigator died before completing a report. The nursing home rejected the allegation. The adjudication officer found the initial investigation flawed because the worker had not been interviewed. A further investigation was considered impractical because key staff had left and the employer would not fund one.
